The Porting Engineer will be responsible for porting new and legacy applications to multiple Brew and J2ME devices. The engineer will work closely with QA, art, and production to effectively and efficiently cover all viable devices. The ideal candidate should be familiar with J2ME and Brew applications and devices, and have experience porting numerous applications and games to them. - Refactoring existing code to work on low-end, low-memory devices
- Debugging and optimizing source code
- Researching and prototyping new application and game ideas
- Maintaining legacy applications
- Creating internal tools for porting, building, QA, etc.
Qualifications: - Proficient in C/C++ and Java
- Experience working in Brew and J2ME, especially for US handsets
- Knowledge of handset issues and workarounds
- iPhone, ObjC/Cocoa Touch, Perl, Python, Ant, Ruby, SQL a plus
- Working knowledge of design patterns and client-server architecture
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and quality
