Ken Engels, Vice President, Business Development & Content Acquisition

As VP of Business Development at Sonic, Ken develops and manages relationships with licensors, carriers, and partners.

Ken began working with Sonic in 2002, as the company’s VP of Wireless, to grow what was then a boutique provider of interactive Flash marketing solutions into a leading developer and publisher of music-focused games and applications for mobile phones. During Ken’s tenure, Sonic has acquired direct distribution agreements with leading carriers, an extensive portfolio of content licenses with music publishers, record labels and movie studios, and grown its annual mobile revenues.

Ken’s credits as a music producer include work with the Liquid Sky / Caroline Records recording act American Space Travelers, a track featured in the movie Zoolander, and radio advertising spots for Vigilante / Leo Burnett. For Sonic’s ToneMaker product, Ken has also had the pleasure of producing and writing with Method Man, Cee Lo, Ray Murray of Organized Noize, and many others. Ken is co-author of two patents in interactive audio, and also holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law. He is the proud parent of two young children and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Leonard C. Quam, Vice President, Product Development

Leonard manages product development and content production for Sonic. A 20+ year game industry veteran, he has designed or produced over 50 games played by millions of people in diverse media, from print, to online, to PC, and mobile phones. He was previously Director of Games for Zingy and CTO and co-founder of U.S. mobile games pioneer Unplugged Games. Other stops have included West End Games, Victory Games, Crossover Technologies, Enter-Act, and Firaxis Games. Len was an early proponent of agile development processes and technologies in the game industry, first applying them at Unplugged Games in 2000 and is amused that the rest of the games industry is just now coming around to agile. When he's not slaving away at Sonic's offices, Len is mostly likely cooking and enjoying good wine with his wife, playing FPS or RTS games (when she's out of town), and perhaps tying a fly or two.

Jeanne DeSanctis, Vice President, Carrier Relations and Marketing

An early pioneer in digital media distribution and licensing, Jeanne was a founding employee of online music firm SonicNet in the mid-to-late 1990s, where she negotiated deals with artist managers and major and independent music labels for the growing music site, which was acquired by MTV Networks. She went on to direct the programming for MTV's websites and, in 2002, founded mRocket, a mobile retailing service with a proprietary commerce platform. Jeanne secured groundbreaking deals for mRocket with Overstock.com, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T and others. She is well-regarded as one of the industry's leading content development and licensing experts.

With over 15 years of IT experience Chris has served in nearly every facet of technology spanning programming, architecture and administration. While still a student and employee of Widener University he helped design their fully switched 8,000 user ATM (Asynchronus Transfer Mode) network; the fastest collegiate WAN/LAN at the time. Post Widener he served as Assoc. Director of the Global Availability Center (SAC/NOC) at Bristol Myers Squibb where he managed 40+ administrators, engineers and analysts ensuring system and network integrity in 26 countries across 6 continents. Later moving on to direct System and Network Security for Bristol Myers Squibb with emphasis on HIPAA CFR 11 Part 21 compliance. When not working Chris enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children, playing a video game or two and keeping tabs on emerging technologies.

William F. DesLauriers, Vice President and General Counsel

Bill joined Sonic in late 2006 to help the company position itself for exponential growth. “Coming from such diverse working environments as Internet start-up IntraLinks where he was general counsel, the world’s first online service, Prodigy, where he was assistant general counsel, and Apartment Search, a division of Times Mirror focused on rental real estate where he was general counsel, Bill has been practicing law in the technology and corporate areas since the 80’s.”

Hailing from Minnesota where he earned his Bachelors and Law degrees, Bill does not know Garrison Keillor, does not eat Lutefisk or Lefse, has never been to Fargo but somehow still cannot pronounce the words “goat”, “boat” or “coat” in a way so as not to invite ridicule.

Jason Gall is the vice president of sales and products for Sonic Boom, a leading developer and publisher of personalized mobile entertainment. He is based in the company’s New York office.

Previously, Jason was the senior manager of digital media for Boost Mobile.
